Bowling Pin Shoots...What are they all about?

WHEN:   2nd Sat. of each month 10 AM - 2 PM (approx.)  From Apr-Nov. (Apr and Nov. matches are only heald if weather permits)

2009 SCHEDULE:                                                                                                                                April 11 (weather?), May 9,  Jun 13,  July 11,  Aug 8,  Sep 12,  Oct 10 and Nov 14 (weather?)

WHERE: At pistol range #1

OBJECTIVE:
Participants are paired with another shooter by random draw and compete on an elimination basis. Object of the Bowling Pin Shoot (pin shoot) is for shooter to be the first of his/her pairing to CLEAR their table of 5 bowling pins placed at 25 feet from the firing line, so speed and accuracy are both factors. Knockdowns do NOT count, pin must completely clear the table.

Winners of each pairing then compete against each other until there is one final winner of that "round". 3-5 total rounds will typically be done for each of the three classes depending on number of shooters. - All participants must wear eye & ear protection.

Brothers Adam & Alex below duke it out for Rimfire bragging rights

A great day well attended by guys, gals and young folks too.

ORDER OF EVENTSWe conduct  "rounds" of 3 different pistol classes in the following order:

1st:  Rimfire Semi-Auto Pistol Class (.22 cal. )

  • ...shooter loads pistol magazines with 10 rounds regardless of mag's max capacity, but shooter can have as many loaded 10 round mags as desired and swap in additional mags as needed.

2nd: Centerfire Semi-Auto Pistol Class (any caliber)

  • ...shooter loads pistol's magazines with 8 rounds ONLY, regardless of mag's max capacity, but shooter can have as many loaded 8 round mags as desired and swap in additional mags as needed.

3rd:  Revolver/Wheelgun (any caliber)

  • ...shooter loads pistol's cylinder to capacity and may reload with speed loaders or by hand as many times as desired.

Rounds of the three pistol classes are then repeated in order as interest demands.

Shooters can participate in one, two or all three classes as firearms, ammo and funds permit.

For ALL classes, each round of competition will cost shooter $2.00.  Winner of the round and the club split the "pot" 50/50 with club share paying for consummables like pins & tables that get shot up.

Come on out and give it a try!
